The Legend Once upon a time Greg Davis, Luke Batton, Jeff Grimes and former Schenectady resident Joshua Baker decided to invoke the dark spirit of old-timey music in their Northern California home and embark on that classic doomed venture... a band. As with all bands the end eventually came. Other bands had occurred... Yellow No. 5, Sawhorse, Things I Hate, God Hates Computers, and most recently Chased and Smashed... Somehow Joshua kept coming back to that special invocation called the Broken Seats. At some point I dragged them into a recording studio in Oakland. Luke couldn't make it, so Ne'er Do Well Jess Hilliard graciously substituted on the washtub bass.
