Northlanders 37 - The Siege of Paris

Simon Gane returns to Paris! Out now on DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint is issue 37 of Brian Wood’s popular Northlanders comic book, the first of a three-parter called The Siege of Paris, with art by Simon Gane. There is a color preview up on Warren Ellis’ Whitechapel site. Preview panels from issue 38 are on Simon’s site. Like the one above, they are in black and white. A new storyline kicks off with “The Siege of Paris!” This is a grunt’s-eye view of the famous event, a relatively unsung chapter in Viking history, where hundreds defended against thousands, and political maneuvering was as important as the clash of the shield wall.
