Cap'n Quick and a Foozle #2
Cap'n Quick and a Foozle #2
Cap’n Quick is a precocious, imaginative young boy who, while innocently tinkering with a video game joystick, produces a device which transports him to the weird universe where Klonsbon and even more bizarre characters live. Unbeknownst to him, an unseen figure was guiding his hand while he was playing. After four appearances in Eclipse Monthly, the strip graduated to its own title.
Written and drawn by renowned Batman artist Marshall Rogers, this title had its genesis (with writer Steve Englehart) in the black and white Eclipse the Magazine in 1981. The story “Slab” featured Klonsbon the Foozle (a large, ungainly black bird whose alter ego was a female reporter named Sweeney) and S-329, Agent of Storbor, in fairly straightforward super–hero tale. Two years later Eclipse Monthly brought back Klonsbon in Cap’n Quick and a Foozle, abandoning the alter–ego concept, and changing the character to a more lighthearted fantasy.
