Darren Hayman returns with an album of 17th century folk songs. Bugbears comes with a massive booklet of notes and lyrics and the songs are illustrated by artists including Ant Harding , Jonny Helm of The Wave Pictures, Pam Berry of Black Tambourine, Dan Wilson of Withered Hand and Matthew Sawyer. Following The Violence, which concerned itself with the East Anglian witch trials, Hayman became fascinated with that period of history and Bugbears can be considered an accompanying volume. Although Darren did a fair amount of research, these are not meant to be definitive or historical readings of the songs. He has revised, edited and even rewritten in places.
