We kick off Winter 2018 with a special cover story on one of America's most important living painters, Kerry James Marshall, as his career has been recently showcased in a major retrospective, Mastry, that has toured the United States. We get an intimate, candid conversation with the Chicago-based Marshall about his life in painting, the development of his style, and what an artist does now after getting a major retrospective.
