Wirt, Greg, and the bluebird, Beatrice, decide to take a day off and go dancing with some animals around a pear tree. Thinking that Wirt and Greg have been turned into animals, Beatrice confesses its selfish ways, admitting there is no Adelaide, and they are never getting home.
However, the boys are actually naked in a nearby tree, having traded their clothes for some pears. They miss Beatrice?s entire confession, and instead get their clothes from the animals so they can be on their way. Instead of sneaking away, though, they are chased through the woods by the group of sleeping animals that they woke up.
