Swamp Preacher describes the quasi-mythic beginnings of the nameless founder of Pur-Ton-o-Fun Co., the mysterious but wildly successful fundamentalist novelty-item company that protagonist Bill Grimm works for to take on the sins of others in order to save their souls. But such heroism yields ugly consequences. Bill must rejuvenate himself by being born again as Swamp Preacher, in the dismal bogs of birth!
